Is the fax machine Working?

Today we have read in the paper that all information required by the Football Association has been faxed over by Chester City FC.

We all know of the histories of our infamous fax machine that never seems to receive bids or ideas for the better of the club, so how is the outgoing side of it???

Let's hope that fax machine is in full working order, as remember they only really have today, and then it's down to the Football Conference on Monday to see what they decide to do with us.

A big week next week, and tomorrow Chester City will at last play a game, that being at Droylsden, who could feature ex Chester striker Simon Yeo in their side.

Fingers crossed once again!

CVA overturned - what next?

Yes, the news came through yesterday evening that the Court had overturned the original CVA that had been agreed through Refresh Recovery & the Creditors of Chester City FC.

The Judge in the case ruled in favour of the HMRC, who had challenged the validity of the CVA, linking their doubts to the role of Stephen Vaughan, who was representative of the company that put the club into administration, yet was also featuring as a creditor, and also as a figure head of the company that had taken them out of Administration.

So, it's a case of what next for City?

The Administrators say that they are in discussions with the FA about getting their licence to play football in the Blue Square Premier League, which as we know is scheduled to start on August 8th, but how likely this is, we just don't know.

It is my opinion that City will get the licence back, but at a cost, either a further points deduction, just like Leeds & Luton received, or it could be that Chester get booted out of the Conference set up, and drop into the 21 team Unibond League, which would be the easier option I'm sure if the FA were looking to place Chester in a League.

There is a lot of mileage left in this one yet, but I just hope it's not the end of Chester City Football Club.

Who is to blame?

So, today we were expecting news from the Court case that was to see Refresh recovery, the Adminstrators, against the HMRC, in an attempt to remove a "stumbling block" as the Club called it.

No news was forthcoming from the Court, however, there is talk that the case is actually tomorrow, however, when i contacted Refresh Recovery, to speak to either Bill Brandon, or Martin Shaw - the two men who oversaw the CVA - they were both out of the office, so will try again tomorrow for an update.

Fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

Chester City - The Future

Welcome to my Chester City FC blog, a blog that I'll be looking to update each day throughout the new season.

Right now, no-one knows exactly what the future holds, even if we will actually be in a position to play football in any league, never mind the Blue Square Premier League.

This is down to the Football Association's refusal to give the club a licence to be affiliated to the organisation. Already Chester City have had to cancel their pre-season friendlies to date, with the next major friendly, against Premier league new boys Burnley, next Saturday, already under threat of cancellation.

Today, we have seen the Managing Director of the Club, Bob Gray, criticise those who frequent and give their opinions on DevaChat, the Chester fans main source of letting off some steam, and putting up arguments & topics for debate.

Gray, said that the fans had their chance to take over the club when it was in Administration, however, at this stage, any winning bid would have had to be at the value of £4.3m due to Stephen Vaughan's debentures.

Tomorrow, Monday 27th, sees the Administrators in Court, with the HMRC, to try to remove a "stumbling block" in the way of FA ratification of the new company that owns Chester City FC, named CCFC 2004 Limited, and led (on paper) by Stephen Vaughan Junior, the ex-Chairman and owner's Son.

Hopefully we will find out that there has been some progress at this point tomorrow, and that Chester fans can look to following their team on Saturday 8th August, at Grays Athletic.
